Rosamond Solar is Sempra Generation’s newest clean energy project. The solar
installation will create new jobs for area residents and decrease California’s reliance on fossil fuels.
Located on previously disturbed farmland about 12 miles west of Rosamond, Calif., Rosamond Solar will generate over 100 megawatts of clean electricity, enough to power more than 38,000 homes. Construction is expected to begin in early 2012 and be completed by mid-2013.

| New Jobs |
|
Rosamond Solar supports stronger a local economy by creating approximately 300 construction jobs
and eight long-term positions that can be filled by the region’s workforce. |

|
| Water Conservation |
Rosamond Solar will use photovoltaic technology that doesn’t require water to
generate electricity, making it an environmentally-sustainable project for the Antelope Valley where
water is a precious resource. Once constructed, only a minimal amount of water will be needed to
periodically clean the installed solar panels. |

|
| Environmental Benefits |
|
Rosamond is an ideal location to generate solar power given its 275 days of sunshine a year and flat terrain.
By using sunlight instead of fossil fuels to generate electricity, Rosamond Solar protects regional
air quality as photovoltaic panels don’t emit greenhouse gases. By building Rosamond Solar on disturbed
former agricultural land that is near existing transmission lines, there is less impact on environment
and sensitive habitat.
